A 45-year old Fountain Hills man has been indicted for the third time in 90 days on federal charges of money laundering and wire fraud.

Cryptocurrency is part of each case.

In one case, federal prosecutors say Jeremie Sowerby and another man used cryptocurrency investment ruses to scam millions of dollars out of hundreds of people.

In another case, Sowerby is accused of scamming a physician of roughly $200,000 after promising payout of a hedge fund investment plus profit in Bitcoin.

In the most recent case, Sowerby is accused of pocketing millions of dollars after falsely claiming to own a company that sold cryptocurrency mining machines housed in Tempe.

A defense lawyer for Sowerby declined to comment.
