A Yavapai County Superior Court judge is surrendering her gavel after she was charged with extreme DUI earlier this year and pleaded guilty in May to a misdemeanor.

And an independent state agency is dropping an effort to formally discipline the now outgoing judge.

The Commission on Judicial Conduct says Cele Hancock is resigning her judgeship and has agreed to not serve as a judicial officer in Arizona again.

Body camera footage of a March traffic stop shows Hancock telling Prescott police that she drank wine a couple hours before being pulled over.

The state Commission on Judicial Conduct says the deal with Hancock protects judiciary integrity and the public.
