As we face another hot day in Arizona, it’s no secret that it’s been above 115 degrees … a lot.

The Phoenix area continues to shatter the record of 14 days at or above 115 degrees. Experts say this will be the hottest month on record.

National Weather Service meteorologist Chris Kuhlman says it’s hard to keep track of all the records that are being broken at the same time.

"We’ve reached 119 degrees three times this month, where in the past we have only ever reached 119 degrees or above on five separate occasions," he says.

Kuhlman provided some good news. Starting this weekend, widespread thunderstorms are in the forecast, and may bring the daily high below 110 for the first time since June 30.
