Grand Canyon National Park North Rim to reopen May 15
Every winter, Grand Canyon National Park closes its North Rim lodge and other services for the season.
But this year’s reopening is just around the corner.
Park rangers will open the North Rim gates on Sunday, May 15.
The lodge, trail rides, campground and retail services will also be available.
For the first time in a while, visitors can visit Fire Point on the Kaibab Plateau, which was closed after the Ike’s Fire in 2019.
The area is a popular destination for car camping, although a backcountry permit is required. Weather permitting, the lodge and other commercial services will remain open through Oct. 15.
