Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, of the Rolling Stones, perform during the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in New Orleans, Thursday, May 2, 2024.

The Rolling Stones were last in metro Phoenix in August 2019, when they played State Farm Stadium in Glendale. The venerable legends are back in that venue Tuesday.

Even though singer Mick Jagger and lead guitarist Keith Richards are each 80, and guitarist and bassist Ronnie Wood is not far behind at 76, the rock band for the ages remains vigorous and ageless, according to longtime Arizona concert promoter Danny Zelisko.

“These guys still manage to put a great show out on the road. They’re obviously in good enough shape and doing it right. I mean, this is what they’ve been doing their whole lives," Zelisko said.

The Stones’ 16 city U.S and Canada tour is to promote their new album, "Hackney Diamonds," and is their first since the death of drummer Charlie Watts in 2021.

They’ve been playing concerts for more than 6 decades, and Zelisko says it might be your last chance to see them in Arizona.

"You should hear them. Because you are getting to witness one of the purest forms of music," Zelisko said.

The concert begins at 8 p.m., and the Arizona Department of Transportation says heavier traffic is likely all down the line on westbound Interstate 10 in Phoenix and on Loop 101 as concertgoers arrive.
