Fans Of Boxing Champ Márquez Cheer After KO
December 10, 2012

LAS VEGAS -- While scores of people traveled far to Las Vegas to see the boxing match between Juan Manuel “Dinamita” Márquez of Mexico and Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao of the Philippines, fortunately I had about a 25-minute commute to the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday night.

Though I didn't splurge on tickets to the match, I did hang out in the lobby area waiting for crowds to rush out of the arena and cheer, which they did at around 10 p.m. after Márquez knocked out Pacquiao in the sixth round. And cheering is perhaps an understatement.

Fans of Márquez shouted, sang, danced, waved Mexican flags, hugged each other and transformed the venue into what seemed like the happiest place on the planet.
