A man killed by a Border Patrol agent in Tucson last Friday has been identified as Jose Amaro Francisco Lopez, 23.

Gregory Hess, Chief Medical Examiner for Pima County, says the man is a Mexican national and died of a single gunshot to the head.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection says Lopez was armed. A statement, CBP said “multiple weapons were recovered and no injuries to the agents involved have been reported.”

Agents had been pursuing other suspects at the scene. The FBI has taken the lead in the investigation.

This is the third fatal shooting involving a Border Patrol agent in 2014. Last month, prosecutors declined to file criminal charges against Agent Daniel Marquez. He shot and killed Jose Luis Arambula, a suspected drug smuggler, near Green Valley.
