People will gather Friday to mark the two-year anniversary of the death of a Mexican teenager killed in Nogales, Sonora by a U.S. Border Patrol agent.

A mass, march and other activites are scheduled to take place from Nogales, Sonora to the border to remember 16-year-old Jose Antonio Elena Rodriguez.

The teen was shot 10 times by a Border Patrol agent from the Arizona side of the border. The agency said the boy was part of a group throwing rocks at agents on Oct. 10, 2012.

The ACLU filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Customs and Border Protection in federal court in Tucson on behalf of the boy's mother. The organization said the incident is another example of the Border Patrol's unchecked use of excessive force.

Last month the agency agreed to release the name of the agent who shot Elena Rodriguez to his family, under the condition it be kept under seal while the case continues.
