Mennonites enjoy a justifiably earned reputation for honesty and industriousness. This is the story of one Mennonite who is linked to at least 10 cases of high-volume marijuana smuggling after allegedly recruiting Mexicans to act as unwitting drug mules.


Urban Sprawl Squeezes Pronghorn Antelope Out

When we think of the West we picture wide open spaces. But development is having an impact on the pronghorn antelope, especially in one of the fastest growing areas in the Southwest — Prescott Valley in northern Arizona.

"We’ve already interfered with wildlife," Arizona Game and Fish Department's Zen Mocarski said. "If we want our children and our children’s children to see the same animals and the same diversity that we get to see today then we have to manage wildlife."


Two Million Deportation Mark Draws Protest, Debate
 
Protests are planned around the country this weekend to commemorate what some estimate to be the Obama Administration’s two millionth deportation. But some on the other side of the debate are concerned the administration’s figures are misleading.

Natalie Cruz, one of the protest organizers, said the message is, “to let President Obama know that we are tired of all the deportations. Two million is too many already.”

Catholic Leaders Call For Immigration Reform At Border Mass

A Catholic cardinal and several bishops held a bilingual Mass at the border dividing Nogales, Ariz., and Nogales, Mex., on Tuesday. The Catholic clergy are calling on Congress to fix the broken immigration system. 

The Mass recognized migrants who died trying to cross the border. It drew hundreds of people, including those who watched through the border fence from Mexico.
