Its storyline centers on a murder that involves police investigation on both sides of the border. The show was recently green-lighted for a second season.

But for border residents, the effects of drug trafficking are very real. In July, Fronteras Desk reported that methamphetamine seizures at the San Diego ports of entry are three times higher than all other ports combined. More than 80 percent of meth seized in the United States is made in Mexico.
